Why not try and start at the top, and then maybe work our way down?

Badly covering up past lying is gettin about as old as Nephi's missing golden plates, but now, to still maintain a position to keep trying to dodge and cover-up things. This might be how rich traditions become cementing and much more permanently ensured.

Great idea. Start with the every disappearing plates and end with the whole priesthood ban that is now going on. It surprising that the ban on the priesthood ended in 1978 and it is still talked about. Maybe it is time for Moroni to pay another visit.

How can that happen when he (Moroni) never really showed his face or got his ticket punched the first time?

I thougth that the moroni visit was in a dream or in the bedroom and Moroni was able to visit con man Joseph without waking the children. The whole subject was covered in the book title Origins of Power by D. Micheal Quinn.

Spring 2017, looks as if we may be starting our very own Traditions, well it's about time!

Hi Joey.
After clicking on the link here & then clicking on the link in the page that follows I found this quote:
Quote:
"This was a chocolate colored, egg shaped stone found by the prophet while digging a well for Clark Chase... Joseph used it in the translation of the plates." LDS Reference Encyclopedia, 1960, pg. 448 - 449.

"Why is it nearly every Mormon I speak with has never heard of this?" — M C
http://www.thespectrum.com/story/opinio ... autologin=

What I find strange: Almost every person I know except Mormons has heard about Joseph Smith's seer stone. What is also strange: The Mormons quit coming over to the house. Soon it will be two years; it's like I'm on some kind of a off-limits list or something???
Come on over guys, I've got more Kool-Aid.

Oh my gosh, there went the start of my new tradition. I was trying on a newer, gentler version of joseph's myth, attempting to try and give a little more slack to the LDS parishioner still maybe in shock and trying to adjust to everything.

The way you just put it kinda is like finding out everybody in the neighborhood knew your spouse was a big cheater, except you.
O-MY-GOLLY!

Just remember, these Mormons all know just one thing and one thing only sometimes. Milk before meat, milk before meat...

You gotta let it all go now Mr. K, it is time. Your job is finished, there will be no apology from the LDS church (sm, C) and there will be no repentant attitude from them and you know what else? That hurts! That sucks! But now we can work on the people that they've hurt, the people that are still being tortured and the one's being held in a mental prison.

You gotta know I already know you have a huge huge heart Mr. Kelsey and you just gotta maybe be told one more time how much we all need and appreciate you Rich.

"Why is it that they have never heard of this chocolate colored egg shaped stone? "

Well, long version entails the normal lack of investigation by members of most organized religions. Members are not encouraged to look into their own questions, much less investigate on the behalf of others who do also have questions. I have yet to find any religion that encourages believers to look at their own history...it just isn't done by the leadership. Ignorance is bliss, until we find/study our way out.

Are you saying Mormons can't learn?

After Joseph Smith got locked up in New York for crystal gazing, magic rock gazing, hat or whatever gazing he was kicked out of that US State forever. From then on he would have someone else record things he spoke. He wasn't going to create the evidence by writing the stuff down on paper himself, that might end up convicting his sorry ass in the courts again. He learned better how to break the law and get away with it.

Until it got he and his brother killed. He really liked breaking the law of the land, both in spirit of the law and in the literal interpretation of the law.

Mormons learn what they want to learn. They may not even wish to acknowledge that the western practices of polygamy puts the entire group at risk for inbreeding and undesirable inbred characteristics through Accidental LDS Incest still a major concern for 2017 and beyond.

Y'know, if you really want to learn something learn this. The Mormons basically own and profit from the DNA and Ancestry data base. Thats right, they created the problem and now actually profit from parts of the solution! Is that sick or what?

That's just as sick as the government in charge of health care after subsidizing corn sugar and cane sugar for decades and decades upon decades. (The big five chronic and ongoing problems are directly tied to sugar) You've got five fingers so use em to count them all, Diabetes, Obesity, Heart Disease, Cancer and lastly the one everybody misses. Overused reliance on prescription and non-prescription drugs.

To keep subsidizing and remain supportive of the sugar industry while at the same time preaching to take governmental control of health care seems just as insane as it actually is.

Mormon grace, or maybe the lack of grace as the rest of the Christian world might see it.

First part of more than maybe one or two articles.

I know I know, if we don't keep some type of threat handy the LDS members would never behave. Heh heh, same reason you must always take two Mormons fishing and never never never just one!

Take just one and there goes your cigarettes and all the beer too. You got that easy, right?

Careful now, you easily might very well find out you're not really Mormon at all, except on paper in a technical sense of course.

https://www.deseretnews.com/article/865 ... t-how.html

Since when was unmerited grace from God less than simple? Maybe when it is no longer or not believed and fails to give birth to a different and more heartfelt motivation. So don't stifle a beginning for a much more real relationship with God, replacing and outgrowing stale religion.

Somewhere along the line you may or might experience real unmerited grace, a little like a small sample of possibly "God's Grace" that is held for redemptive hearts and souls of men and women experiencing true felt repentance.

There is so little doubt that this has already been happening with some of the Mormon members since the various LDS individuals like to feel their way through almost any and all religious experiences. Are you staying with me here? I know this could sound maybe a bit extrapolated. Where the line is drawn with Mormons that have this potentially added sense of cognitive dissonance, I do not know.

If cognitive dissonance feels a bit too familiar like home, we'll maybe have to work a little more on that later on.
