... (17 days ago, I emailed my official resignation to Membership Records in SLC. I added cc's to the current email addresses (double-checking using LDS.org) for the Bishop, and the Stake president.
That was sent out on June 18.

Two and a half weeks without a peep. (Unless you count the mysterious LinkedIn suggestions that I connect to two people whose names just happen to be -- you guessed it -- the current Bishop and Stake President. I haven't connected.)

Should I keep waiting or try again? I really want this done.

Hi! Congrats! The standard advised time is 6 weeks. We have people who happily have had results much sooner, but 6 weeks is still a guideline. Sometimes it takes longer because it depends on the processing that happens at a Stake level and some people are better administrators than others but you have no worries at the present. :)

Thank you, Melanie.

I think my expectation had been based on those faster experiences.

Okay, every day or two since I started this thread, I log in at ldsaccount.lds.org -- hoping -- fingers tightly crossed -- that it will say "INVALID ACCOUNT" (or the like).

Sadly, each time, my account is still active, including today.

I do that so I can see that my resignation has been processed.

So, as of today, it's been 33 days (over 30!) since I submitted my official resignation to Bishop, Stake President and Member Records in SLC.

I know its excruciating but 6 weeks is the advised time.

It depends how you feel.

You could ring the bishop or get a friend who is active to check it out, the bishop may be sitting on the admin or be on holiday or some such. That Linkedin stuff may suggest the bishop is playing a game perhaps.

You can always send the email again if you wish but I have never ever heard of there being an error with the email at membership resignation office, I most certainly believe delays are due to individuals at the ward level.

You know what they say, a watched kettle never boils. You are free in your heart, this is just admin but you'll get confirmation before too long.
