Rich:

Thanks for posting "Lesson 21" on your website!! God will bless you!!

And I appreciate very much what you said about your FHE experience with full-time Mormon missionaries. The Spirit was in abundance during your meeting, and if you had the opportunity of converting a young sinner from the error of his ways, God was with you. I wish that such opportunities were rife, but in most cases they are not. The Mormon Church is an evil conspiracy of people who are on the devil's errand, and the signs of the times are upon us. Things must get worse before the Savior comes as the avenging lion. Until then we must do what we can, as soldiers for Christ Jesus, to shed His light in darkness.

I don't know your age, but your description of your prior experiences in the Mormon Church seem to indicate that you were involved with Mormonism during the 1980s-90s. My story is very convoluted and involved with personal tragedy at the hands of the Mormon hierarchy.

I hope you realize that people like you, Ken Clark, Simon Southerton, Hans Mattsson, the Swedish ex-GA, and me are directly in the aim of the very pragmatic 700 billion dollar Mormon Church. If a severe dent is placed into their missionary efforts by our Christian ministries, they just might start shooting. As Spencer W. Kimball said, "The convert is the life's blood of the church." That translates into dollars and cents, and an organized crime racket like Mormonism is protective of its illegal unjust enrichment. I knew a former employee of the Mormon Church Security Service in Lynnwood, Washington, who told me about his experiences guarding Hinckley and other Mormon apostles on Temple Square. When he resigned in disgust from the CSS, he started receiving death threats. I don't think the evil Mormon hierarchy ever thought that "Lesson 21" would one day bit them in the rear!

Norton.

I've never been a Mormon. I was born in 1955. In the 1960s-70s I was caught up in the 60s lifestyle and mindset: sex, drugs and rock and roll. I started searching for God after a near death experience in 1972. During that ordeal I was taken to the gates of hell. For those who are interested I have a article about that: http://richkelsey.org/my_near_death_experience.htm

My first experience with Mormons was in the 70s; a Mormon moved into the house next door. In 1980 - 81, I was working at Boeing and a Mormon named Bob was trying to convert me to Mormonism on almost a daily basis; even though I had found Christ by then and had been through a few years of Bible College. Bob gave me a book with a blurb he wrote in it: http://richkelsey.org/lds_total_apostasy_statement.html

It was Bob who really fine tuned my approach to Mormons. I had been having debates with Mormons as far back as 1978, a man named Al was always finding people to have me talk to, mostly Mormons. From the debates & my interactions with Bob I soon learned what did not work: Using the Bible as a standard to measure Mormonism by.

I also found out that almost all of the booklets I had on Mormonism were worthless when it came to debating Mormons. They were good for Christians & investigators, but not Mormons.

In 1995 I heard the voice of God, He said: "I want you to write a book." That was the year I started preparing for the ministry — Rich Kelsey's Global Evangelism was born.

Skip forward to the evening the Missionaries came over in 2014.

During the first meeting they showed up a day early. I was not prayed up. The moment I saw the older LDS man step out of the car my breath was taken away, I could hardly breathe. I felt a strong demonic presence during that first meeting. My mouth was dry.

The next few meetings were completely different, I was prayed up and had total freedom in the Spirit.

Those meetings and the articles that came from them will no doubt help those searching to see the truth.

I pray that lesson 21 will also have an impact on people.

Rich

Rich:

You know the old expression, hindsight is 20/20. Well, throughout my 30 active years as a Mormon elder, I was constantly putting material opposing Mormon theology, history, and doctrine onto back burners in the back of my mind. This was the Holy Spirit gently nudging me toward Jesus. The Mormon social web has always been intricately consuming of all your energies. It was designed that way by scheming men to keep a reasonable person's mind off of inconsistency and contradiction. Nonetheless, the backburners of a person's mind can hold just so much before they begin boiling-over. You have an article on cognitive dissonance (CD) on your website, which is very well-written. The social web of Mormonism is a means of producing cognitive dissonance in convert minds, which serves to make these poor victims of deceit believe that what is actually as dark as the pit of hell is the height of heaven. Even when the truth about Joseph Smith is right before their eyes, CD causes them to stare at you blindly and say "I know that Joseph Smith was a prophet of God."

Like I said, I dealt with family tragedy at the hands of the Mormon hierarchy, something no one should ever have to experience. This moved my backburners to the front of my mind. Then I had my Road to Damascus experience where the Holy Spirit stopped nudging and hogtied me one day while the voice of the Lord Jesus filled my mind. I was on my knees for quite a spell and I rose a new creature through the grace of my Savior, and, from then on, knew what God wanted me to do. That was in the year 2000.

So, God bless you, Rich! May the Lord protect you in your endeavors to spread his Holy Word!

I come several posts late to this conversation, so I won't have much to contribute, and can't address all that has been said, it is a lot.

Thanks for the reminder of the old Priesthood Manuals. First one I ever used was probably whatever they were using in 1960. I remember the Priesthood Manuals from before the one being discussed (1984? I couldn't find a date on the pdf). I loved the Church. I loved the lessons. Back then there was none of the pussyfooting around that I see today, when Priesthood leaders discussed polygamy, the nature of God, we can become Gods and all that. I loved the format of the lessons, too. Last time I went to a Mormon class, however, and that was about two years ago, it was excruciatingly boring. All the fun was gone - the esoteric gnosis, the unique secret teachings - things you don't tell your friends until after they have heard the missionary lessons.

I was a child then, spiritually, intellectually, and emotionally. When I was a child, I used to speak like a child, even think like a child, and reason like a child; when I became a man, I did away with childish ways of thinking and reasoning. I saw then, as it were, in a warped mirror, a distorted version of reality, but now I see reality face to face; then I knew in part, now I know a little more which comparison to what they taught is much more, later i hope to know fully just as I also have been fully known. There are faith, truth, hope, certainty. We all seek the truth, have faith and hope that we will discover it. Certainty will be great, even though love is the greatest of all. ;) :-)

Hello Abinadi. I added the copyright year on the top of the page (1984)

Norton. I un-tilted 4 pages today.

The last 2 still need work:

You made a comment in one of your posts about "World Net Daily, WND as a source of fiction and fantasy instead of news reporting. I happen to personall know some of the journalists who write for WND, and I would greatly appreciate you documenting your assertion that WND is not a reliable news source. I personally believe that it is one of the very few news sources that are NOT supporting mainstream liberalism, political correctness, socialism in their very slanted news content.

I appreciate your efforts to make "Lesson 21's" readability perfect on your website, but I can assure you that its tilted effect on the page will not in any way diminish its impact on the reader. I have already had three souls contact me about their short affiliation with Mormonism after reading "Lesson 21" on MormonThink.org. It is working with the power of the Lord!

Norton.

You are finding fault with me for something I have never done.

There is a difference between World News Daily and World Net Daily.

World News Daily is a satirical work with fictional articles; here is a link to their own disclaimer:
Quote:
"WNDR assumes however all responsibility for the satirical nature of its articles and for the fictional nature of their content. All characters appearing in the articles in this website – even those based on real people – are entirely fictional and any resemblance between them and any persons, living, dead, or undead is purely a miracle." http://worldnewsdailyreport.com/disclaimer/

Your assertion that I "made a comment in one of your posts about "World Net Daily, WND as a source of fiction and fantasy instead of news reporting" is untrue.

For this reason I cannot document my supposed "assertion that WND is not a reliable news source."

To make this very clear: I quoted a disclaimer found on a different magazine: World News Daily.

For those interested in doing some research, like following a link provided in the thread in question: viewtopic.php?f=5&p=129988#p129988 will clear up the confusion.

"East Asia Tribune" caught me once. There are parody "news" websites, but it isn't always clear they are parodies.

For those interested here is the story in question:

A “news” site recently reported the following:

A team of archaeologists excavating a drumlin known as Mormon hill or the Cumorah, in western New York, have discovered a set of gold plates which they believe could be linked to the founder of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Joseph Smith Jr.

The scientists, led by Professor Abraham Jones, are associated with the Brigham Young University’s faculty of archaeology. They were using advanced metal detectors, lasers and other ground-penetrating imaging technology to look for underground structures, when they noticed a small cave-like cavity.

They dug up the entrance, which was buried under a dozen feet of rocks and dirt, and explored the very exiguous cavern. The walls and ceiling were covered with ancient traces of soot, presumably from torches, suggesting the cave had been visited many times in the past. On top of a large flat stone resembling an altar, they found what looks like a book made of metal plates.

The “book” is made of a set of twelve metal plates, each measuring six inches (15 cm) in width, eight inches (20 cm) in length approximately half an inch (1.27 centimeter) in thickness. The plates are made of a copper-gold alloy, and are held together by three D-shaped rings, forming a sort of book. The entire volume measures a total of nearly six inches [15 cm] in thickness and weights 59 pounds (26.76 kg).

The plates are covered with mysterious symbols, very similar to the “reformed Egyptian” characters, written by Joseph Smith Jr. on the document known as the “Anthon Transcript”. Many of the symbols on the plates found by the archaeologists are identical to those drawn by the prophet, in 1928.

This new discovery could be the most important material and historical proof ever found, to back the claims of Joseph Smith Jr. Professor Jones and the scientists from Brigham Young University will now perform an extensive series of tests and analysis to determine if the plates could indeed be linked to the prophet.

The above story is not true. The only news organization to report this was the World News Daily. The World News Daily is a site that publishes fictional and satirical news. The following disclaimer can be found on their website – “WNDR assumes however all responsibility for the satirical nature of its articles and for the fictional nature of their content. All characters appearing in the articles in this website – even those based on real people – are entirely fictional and any resemblance between them and any persons, living, dead, or undead is purely a miracle.” http://holyfetch.com/gold-plates-recently-discovered/

Also, for those of us who are interested: I put together a web-page with images from a PDF, which was sent to me from our new member and good brother Norton.

I finished that web-page yesterday. Even though I had a photo editing program which came with my web-building software, it was not able to do the small increments of tilting needed to try to make the images straight. So, I got a new program. It did not mesh with my web-software, so I had to use both programs cutting and pasting up the kazoo; it took over 3 hours to sort things out.

I feel that the effort was well worth it.

If you have looked at this page before please refresh your browser to see the new layout. I am very happy with it: http://richkelsey.org/lesson21.html

Hi Melanie.

Yes, "it's level" now. To me, that is important. I believe in letting the reader get lost in the read; in other words, just concentrate on what they are reading. If there are issues with the format that can be fixed, why not fix them?

As far as my right arm, elbow & wrist. I kept thinking about the Internet spiders; and, how they were going to capture a flawed webpage if I did not fix it soon. To lessen the stress I spread the work out over a three day period.

The good news: That work is a very powerful example of LDS history which LDS leaders today are trying to sweep under the table.

I was a little concerned about copyright issues, yet, I got to thinking that 7 pages out of over 300 would fall under the "fair use" clause.

God bless you and thanks for your concern.
